11 weeks to go…Recap

This week was mainly a recovery week, however I got a couple of short runs in. I know I wrote a little bit about it already, but figure I log it in my blog today!

Sunday- Boston Prep 16 mile run in Derry, NH

Monday – REST/recovery from Derry Boston Prep Run. 1 Hour Massage.

Tuesday – Dana-Farber Speed Workout with former Boston Marathon winner, Jack Fultz. 12 x 600 meter around the track with 200 meter recovery in between and 400 meter recovery after 4 and 8.  Pace was 5k-10k speed.  Mile warm up, mile cool down. I think I ran about 7 miles total.

Wednesday – Rest day

Thursday – 2 mile warmup.  Leg was a little tense still so kept the run short. Weight training and lots of stretching.

Friday – 45 minutes on the Cybrex Arc Trainer with 1/2 hour of stretching

Saturday- Rest. Feeling much better with my leg and muscles feeling back to normal.

Total mileage: 25 miles.  Pretty low in terms of where I should be with miles this week, however I am being better at listening to my body.  Especially after Sunday’s race, I needed a recovery week. Tomorrow I hope to get back on track with training.  I am struggling between following a training schedule, but then hearing that I shouldn’t be “over-doing” it.
