A few weeks back I had to send in the paperwork that actually entered me to run in the Boston Marathon. I submitted the completed form to Dana-Farber the next day after I received it in the mail. Today was the deadline to get the entries into Dana-Farber – who will then process and send to the Boston Athletic Association (BAA).

I was noticing that some of my friends running the Boston Marathon have already been listed on the entry site (http://www.baa.org/races/boston-marathon/participant-information/entrants.aspx). I searched my name and couldn’t find it. So needless to say, I was a little bit worried after not getting a response from an email or phone message I left to the Dana-Farber team last week because I had already raised a significant amount of money and started training.
Luckily I got a response back today by email and phone explaining that the paperwork for all the Dana-Farber marathon runners get submitted together and that our names won’t be posted until January or February. Dana-Farber also calls any of the runners that they did not receive paperwork. So in case you were looking on the entry list, no need to worry…I promise you I am running. NO turning back now
I guess I am just eager to see my name on the BAA website and have it official that I am running in the 116th Boston Marathon!
This morning I woke up again at 4:45 AM – very surprising since I only had 4 1/2 hours of sleep last night (NOT good). But I got 6 miles in this morning (GOOD). The mileage is going up slightly from last week. I felt really great and ran a little under 8 minute miles. Each time I run, I feel like I am getting more mentally prepared! Time for bed!
